Waking up to the sound of crashing waves, enjoying local fresh fruit for breakfast while overlooking the ocean, visits to the local farmer’s market to pick up produce for the week, lounging by the pool reading a book, the salt water in my hair and the sun on my face, beach walks and exploring the coastline, dinner dates with the husband… these are just a few of the highlights from my time away on the Sunshine Coast of Australia in one of my favourite spots, beautiful Noosa.
Our time away had the ideal mix of relaxing and exploring. The perfect holiday if you ask me. While we were away, Mike and I ventured out on a little coastal walk through the National Park and coastline. We packed a basket of snacks, found the perfect spot on the rocks, and watched the waves crash in as the sun slowly disappeared behind the distant hills. It was a beautiful night with one of the most stunning sunsets I have ever seen.
There is just something invigorating about being able to sit, watch, and be in the moment, taking in the surroundings, unplugging from the world, from the weekly routine, and appreciating life, and all it’s blessings. These little moments are special. These moments are treasured. These moments are important.
At times it can be tough to switch off from the world and be present in the here and now. With so many distractions competing for our attention, it’s so important for us to value and celebrate the now.
